| The problems of our country are so
widespread, with Wall Street fraud, an unsustainable economy, political stalemate,
abuse of the military, ecological disasters, drug dependence and domestic
violence, that none of our problems can be solved without the others. The problems
are systemic and chronic, requiring a complete change. What can we do, alone and
together?
| Susanna proposes that we focus on
transforming hearts instead of minds or behavior, and she shows how profound an effect
we can have.
| | How did we get into our unsustainable situation? Living from the mind makes one
an observer, and to an observer, everything is outside oneself and other than
oneself: other people, other religions, other races, other forms of life. This
dellusion allows people to seek advantage through the disadvantage of others. But
when we live from the heart, we are not observers; everything and everyone is
familiar to us, feels like ourself, and is loved as ourself. This leads us to act
in ways that are not self-destructive, ways that are sustainable.
| How can you occupy your heart? When you feel spirit moving on your
breath and passing through your heart, your religion becomes truth; your business becomes
peace; your purpose in life becomes joy; your relationships become love.
| | To change the foundation of the world from unsustainable to sustainable, requires
a transformation of our experience of reality, of the universe and of self. As
each one of us begins to feel the presence of The One within us, we each affect
the spiritual realm about us. As the spiritual realm is rebuilt, the world
transforms, as each life is the embodiment
of spirit, and each one is a microcosm of The One.
| Susanna says, "Occupy your heart, and
spirit will occupy you." Then she shows you how to do it, in four easy practices of breath and
visualization.
|
The content of the seminar, day 1:
The first day of the seminar is conducted from 9 am to 5 pm, with a break for lunch.
No previous experience is required; Susanna welcomes teenagers and adults from all backgrounds.
The spiritual reconstruction of the world begins with the spiritual reconstruction of
your self, refilling your heart by downloading the source of Love, and this is the first practice of
the seminar.
The second practice is an integration of your self with others: those who depend on you
and knock on your door, and those to whom you give your heart.
This includes your children, parents, relatives, friends, co-workers, and all those
who have ever touched your heart, anywhere in the world.
In the third practice, you will consciously connect with those you have admired,
living or not, who have inspired you and who urge you to carry their work further,
through your own great accomplishments.
Finally, through the fourth practice of cosmic expansion and contraction, you upload your
spiritual experience to the macrocosm of which you are a microcosm, so that everyone
benefits as their own hearts are recharged from the heart of humanity.
An example of the power of just a few hearts is shown in the experiment conducted at IAM Heart
where violent crime was reduced in a city 2000 miles distant through Heart Rhythm Meditation.
The content of the seminar, day 2:
A second day of the seminar is offered for a small group who wishes to go deeper into
the experience of occupying your heart, with individual feedback from Susanna.
You can choose from either of two sessions, morning or afternoon, each with no more than 10 participants.
The format of each session is the same:
Susanna begins by asking each person to discuss their experience in the first
day, and what they would like to experience further, or what decision they need to make
in their life, or what they would like to change about themselves.
Then Susanna offers "darshan" to each participant. In dharshan, she speaks
from a state of meditatation to each participant, one-by-one, in front of the group,
and describes her sense of that person's great heart qualities, and how they can best
contribute to the reconstruction of the world, referring to the model of the energetic
heart described in her book, "Energize Your Heart in Four Dimensions."
The Results
What would the world look like after a spiritual reconstruction?
All the problems we're experiencing in the world are due to a lack of spiritual realization.
So when we occupy our hearts, what happens?
- We feel connected, a part of each other.
- Therefore we feel our responsibility for others.
- Being in our hearts overcomes isolation; there is no loneliness or disconnection.
- Women and men work together to empower each other in equality.
- We know how to nurture the hearts of our children and guide them with respect.
- Our children grow up to occupy their hearts.
- Our lives are healthier, with less health care.
- We have much less fear in all aspects of life.
- We find meaningful, useful, creative work.
- We dedicate ourselves to the purpose of our life.
- Wisdom and optimism continue to develop long into old age.
- In harmony we live with nature and other countries, races, religions and cultures.
In the first seminar of the Occupy Your Heart tour that was just held in Tucson,
participants reported profound calm, inspiring insights, overwhelming forgiveness, a sense of their
purpose, deep emotion, renewed dedication to living from the heart, a strong sense of energy,
and generally, a new experience of the inner world.
