Everything has a heart, and a heartbeat. This astonishing statement is like saying everything is alive, which the mystics have always said. Life is everywhere, in everything!

NGC 3132 is a striking example of a planetary nebula. This expanding cloud of gas, surrounding a star, is known to astronomers in the southern hemisphere as the "Eight-Burst" or the "Southern Ring" Nebula. This picture from NASA reminds us of what it's like to be inside the heart, an enormous and cosmic structure that is not our own. |
